How we rent gear, in the words we use at the counter: when to pick up, when to bring it back, what a bike rental includes, and what our offers mean.
Our Philosophy
Imperial Ski and Bike runs on one idea: rent the gear we'd want on our own ski day, and treat every guest the way we'd want to be treated on ours. That starts with pricing you can trust. The rate you see is the rate you pay, and if you bring your gear back early, we refund the days you didn't use. It continues with a fleet worth riding, from names we trust on the ski wall like Nordica, K2, Völkl, Blizzard and Atomic, and Never Summer, GNU and Lib Tech on the snowboard side. And it means respecting your time. Pick up the evening before at no charge, so your first morning starts on the lift, not at our counter. We're a small shop on Main Street in Breckenridge, and we'd rather earn your next visit than a one-time sale.
Ski & snowboard rentals
- Pick your gear up any time after 3:00 PM the day before at no extra charge, so your first morning starts on the hill.
- Bring it back the evening of your final day, or by 9:00 AM the day after your final day at the latest.
- A return after 9:00 AM the day after your final day is charged as another rental day.
- Finish early and we refund the days you did not use — just tell us at the counter when you drop the gear off.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the date of your reservation for a full refund; inside 24 hours there is no refund.
Bike rentals
Reservations are recommended but not required: reserve ahead and we will have a bike sized and waiting for you, or walk in and we will fit you from whatever is on the floor.
Pickup and return
- Bikes are available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM: pick yours up any time after 9:00 AM and have it back by 5:00 PM the same day.
- Evening-before pickup is something we arrange in person only, subject to what is on the floor that night and a small extra fee.
- We do not take morning returns, so plan to drop the bike off before we close on your last day.
Reservations and cancellations
- A valid credit card holds your reservation, and it is not charged until pickup.
- Cancel inside 24 hours of your pickup time and we may charge you for the rental.
- We may contact you before your pickup if we need anything else to get your bike ready.
What comes with every bike
- A helmet with every bike.
- Your choice of pedals: flat, SPD, Time or Crank Brothers.
- A flat repair kit to take with you.
Trail maps are for sale at the counter if you want one for the day.
Offers & damage waiver
- Reserve online and save 20% off the walk-in price.
- Rent 6 days and pay for 5, on top of the multi-day rate that applies to any rental of 2 days or more.
Damage waiver

Optional, and added at the counter when you pick up. It covers repairable damage from skiing or riding — excessive scraping of the base, a gouge that exposes the core, edge damage — but not negligence, theft or loss. A credit card is held on file at checkout and charged only for damage we cannot repair or for lost equipment.
